Dryden Shorts: Unexpected Neglect

Where were you?

Of all the people who neglected me, I didn’t expect you to be one. When I needed you the most, you weren’t there.

Where were you?

When you needed someone, I was right there. Weeping with you, sobbing with you, standing by you, understanding you, supporting you, encouraging you.

Where were you?

I thought you understood. You know it wasn’t the thought that I needed. I needed your love, support, your strength. But you were not there.

Where were you?
