They sought the Lord for counsel.
When he gave them the go-ahead, they would boldly go and follow the instructions. There was something intriguing about these great men of God who accomplished so much, still seeking God’s permission first. They could have gone ahead and done what they wanted; they had the experience and the track record to go and do that. Yet they appreciated that whatever they had was based on doing it with permission.
Something liberating and empowering about that permission …
