Dryden Links: Unavoidable

The church is magnificent.

It really is a wonderful expression of God’s glorious and wondrous creation. When Jesus came to set up and die for the church, He had something in mind that would amaze even the heavenly realms. The more I get to know Jesus, the more I get to love what Jesus had in mind in the church.

There are plenty of things that could be said against expressions of the church here, there and everywhere, but the church is not defeated, dismissed, denied or derailed. The church still marches on, growing and expressing herself, shaping herself along the way shown by her most handsome and honourable Husband.

I am grateful for those who have helped to develop my appreciation for the church and one blog, in particular, that had a massive influence on me was A Pilgrim’s Progress. Eric, who blogged there, hasn’t blogged for a long time, but the work that is still available online is a treasure trove to stimulate conversation, exploration and application of this wonder that is the church. Hence my commendation to you to consider his series on what is Unavoidable when it comes to this glorious Bride of Christ. It does a superb job of establishing values and principles that I subscribe as faithful to the way Jesus wants the church to express herself.

Whether you agree or not, I hope reading this will give you an insight into why this church is so beautiful and so worth pursuing to be everything Christ longs for. what would you say are the unavoidable aspects that define the church?

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
