Dryden Shorts: Dad and the Guitars

The father gave his two sons a guitar each.

He had some guitar books that they could learn from. He was no expert himself, but he was content to let them see how they got on.

One persisted in learning and discovered a gift and affinity to the instrument as a result he flourished. The other started well and soon lost interest and messed around and missed opportunities for progress.

What is your attitude to the gift the father gives you?

  1. I think a father can give his children a specific tool that brings out a certain desire & gift. But because it’s a specific tool it may have no impact on the other child who should be encouraged to find and occupy their place, as my brother did. 😁
