December is usually a month of reflection.
There was a great sense of that in looking back on the journey through the year. The decision to spend thirty days of Thanksgiving was also a great way to look back at the great things God has done.
Yet December was lot more about the set up to new things. The fresh relationships of the year stepped into another gear with a number of new initiatives. Some projects I had undertaken also sprouted new openings like placements and recordings.
As a result I didn’t get the usual sense of hibernation I enjoy at the end of the year. Indeed, usually around the end of the year I am used to spending time on my own to wrap up in a coil and look on what has been done. On this occasion, however, activity still played a large part in the activity. It was something different but not too awkward.
I was certainly grateful for the time our family spent together in the holidays and seeing the extension of the household through the connections all the girls have made has been humbling and exhilarating. It was another sign of the faithfulness of God and the beginning of the new things He will do through those connections.
