Thank God for … Dark Times

I don’t keep a diary, but sometimes I make notes.

As a result there are notes of things I have thought over the years. From time to time I enjoy reflecting on those words and where I was when I wrote them.

There have been some really dark times in my life. Truly, deeply dark. Some notes were written in those times. To know God’s faithfulness and presence even when I neglected and negated Him is amazing. I can empathise with those who despair. I know the answer for me wasn’t glib scripture quoting and pep talks.

I appreciate the true love that emerged through those dark times.

For that I am grateful.
