It is the greatest thing God gave to human beings as a reflection of what He’s looking to do with His Son and the Church.
Marriage.
It’s God’s idea. It’s not a man-made construct … until it’s taken out of God’s hands. Then it becomes the kind of mess that people have no idea how to use correctly, and is open to every single crazy expression under the sun. It’s tragic because it misses the heart of the one who created it. The heart of that relationship is how the husband loves his wife and how the wife loves her husband. It’s simple and tremendously complex.
I thank God for the honour of being a husband and learning from others what it is to be a husband, especially learning from God in terms of His design. It is not easy but it remains worthwhile and being married to Authrine has given me ample opportunity to write in celebration of her and in gratitude for the relationship we have.
