About August’s Aberdeen Adventure

Earlier on in the blogging this year I mentioned about Aberdeen.

It’s a long story about the making of the journey to Aberdeen, but recently I was privileged to make the trip. I went with a really great friend. The trip did heaps to improve my respect for him so that was a big bonus there.

As well as that, though, the journey there, the experiences there and the journey back has kind of opened my eyes quite a lot. I hope to live out the changes that were indicated as a result of the Aberdeen adventure.

The city is lovely, I enjoyed the time I spent there and what I got in terms of the culture and environment. I hope it’s not the last time I get to go to the city especially to show gratitude for what it has done for my appreciation for life.

Among other things what the Aberdeen adventure highlighted to me was the importance of going outside from time to time. Sometimes the view of things from the inside can be too intense. Spending time outside of everything normal and seeing things in a different place and a different way of life gives something fresh to the whole approach of getting back inside.

As August comes to an end, I give God thanks for the month and the privilege of being in Aberdeen.
