MTP03 Remix – God Keeps You In Line

My child, don’t turn away or become bitter when the LORD corrects you. Pro 3:12  The LORD corrects everyone he loves, just as parents correct their favorite child. (Proverbs 3:11, 12)

There is a connection between discipleship and discipline.  That connection is simple.  To follow requires you to be kept in line.  It is only our inclination to deviate from a given line.  So it is only the loving inclination of our loving Father to keep us in line.  That line of course goes back to the core values established previously – justice, righteousness, fairness.

Being kept in line is sometimes painful – who wants to be told that they are wrong and need correcting?  Especially when God does it!  All the more reason for us to take on these words of wisdom.
