Change Ahead – A Blog Update

I am choosing to use this entry to offer an update on how things are and how they are set to go in the immediate future.

First of all, I’m grateful to God for the blog. I am grateful for the run of consistency in the blog entries, which have been able to go up daily in recent weeks. That’s been a very pleasing development. What has helped is the Bible Studies on Word In, Word Out. The current series is on James, and I’ll wrap that up with the final episodes. Sundays have been a relatively consistent day for the series On The King’s Commands, which would usually be posted here, but that’s been ongoing, more or less, for most of the year. That series will hopefully be completed in 2026.

As November comes to an end, December will mark the 20th anniversary of the blog, which, as you can appreciate, is a big deal. It’s one thing to start something; it’s another thing for it to endure for two decades. Once the James series is over, the majority of entries in December will focus on celebrating the work posted on the blog over the last couple of decades. The plan is that once that is over, Word In, Word Out will return, but in a new weekly slot, along with Dryden Shorts on Saturdays and Obeying The King’s Commands on Sundays. The schedule might not involve daily posts here, but it should establish regular weekly posts to maintain the reality that I’m a word guy called to cross the Word in a way that people can at least make a decision one way or the other.

There are one or two other developments in the pipeline that I’m keen to share, but all in good time. A wonderful change is coming to the blog, which I hope will continue to improve its content quality. In the meantime, thank you for your support.

For His Name’s Sake

  1. Good to hear your news and have a sense of where the blog might be going. Mine began in 2002 and has had a chequered history with some long gaps when I posted nothing. But although posts on other things have taken much of my time and effort recently, I hope I can get to a better balance again soon.

Grace, peace and blessing my friend, be encouraged and carry on carrying on, guided by the Spirit of Christ day by day…

  2. Dear Chris, I’m fairly certain I came across you through your blog, and it was an honour to read your chapter in the book we contributed to. The journey of blogging over the years has not been smooth for either of us. But I’m very glad that it’s given me a connection to you and your good work. Thank you, sir, for your encouragement.
