Dryden Update: Return of the Journeyman Journal

I thank God.

He is amazing and has shown tremendous grace and mercy to me over the last year or so. A lot has happened in that time and a lot has changed. The journey has not been easy or straightforward, but the presence and power of God has helped considerably and I have much to be thankful for.

Last year, you may recall that there was a 40-Day series looking at different episodes of 40 Days in the Bible. I am about to embark on another 40 days of blogging, but on this occasion, I’ll be exploring something a little different and for the benefit of the exercise, I’m doing it under the auspices of the Journeyman Journal, as it will take a journey through scripture on an intriguing theme of how God establishes the heart of a place for people on the move, a hub for people on mission. I’m intrigued to explore the foundation, formation, function, flourish, and follow-up of certain episodes in Scripture that looks at these concepts and what they can do to help inform an approach today.

That will mean the current series on Obeying The King’s Commands will be on pause until this series is complete, but I have every intention of resuming the series as it remans an important one to consider for those who take discipleship seriously and appreciate that teaching others to observe all that He’s commanded requires us to have a good idea how to observe all that He has commanded.

As well as thanking God, thank you for continuing to read the blog. It’s been very busy in my life recently, but what helps make it worthwhile is knowing that in some way what I get to deliver on here enables readers to consider the content and be blessed by it even as I receive a blessing from the process of writing it. Please continue to pray that God will grant me wisdom and strength to progress in growing to know Him and do what brings Him pleasure.

Meanwhile look for Day 1 of the new series of the Journeyman Journal coming very soon.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom

C. L. J. Dryden

  1. I hope this new venture, the Journeyman’s Journal, goes really well Chris. I’m confident it will under the Spirit’s guidance. Grace and peace to you as you write. Remember – it’s not just Chris Dryden writing, but Jesus writing through you as his agent. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. And without him we can do … nothing!
