We were walking home. It had been a tough few days. Maybe the hope was gone. Hope was crucified.
A fellow traveller wondered why we were so sad. We thought He must have lived under a rock to be ignorant of recent events.
Yet as we walked with Him, our hearts were aflame as He took us through everything Scripture said about these things. Our sadness turned to wonder and joy at this.
We urged Him to stay and when He stayed He blessed and broke the bread and then …
