Dryden Shorts: Do Not Be Overcome … But Overcome

When it happened this is how he felt: distraught, confused, hurt.

He could have reacted by withdrawing and simmering in bitterness. He could have reacted with furious aggression and contempt.

Acknowledging his feelings, though, he breathed out a prayer for strength and received the Spirit. He reached out in love, he sought to repair any breaches, and he looked to heal wounds as far as he could.

He was not overcome by evil but overcame evil with good.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom

C. L. J. Dryden
