There’s something about being restless with the way things are.
It’s not about it necessarily being wrong for everyone. It’s just the gnawing sense that it’s not right for you. You’ve reached this state of normality through hard work and perseverance. There’s also the acknowledgement that you wouldn’t have made it without the grace of God. You’re not ungrateful. On the contrary you take the ample opportunities to express thanks to God for all He has done and continues to do.
In that, however, there is the sense that change is in the air and movement is required. Being unsettled is a nudge towards making the move. Making the move, though, doesn’t end the state of being unsettled. Indeed making the move unsettles everything even more because it’s a commitment to leave what was already established. Leaving that doesn’t just unsettle you, but unsettles those around you who function as long as you’re set in that settled place. Leaving all of that behind is unsettling.
It is a commitment however, not to settle for anythig other than what God gives for you to settle with. Growing does involve change and movement is involved from time to time. Often there is a call to move on.
When that kicks in, whatever reservations and issues with inconvenience, you know eventually it will be time to go on another journey.
