He had two options.
If he was to go, he would get be with Jesus and that would be the ultimate bliss. He had that sense of security of knowing where he would go and how much better it would be for him.
Then, however, he acknowledged that if he was to stick around, it would be to live as Jesus worked through him for the building up of others.
Having those two was a win-win situation for him.
