About That New Wine

I would not have missed it for the world.

Are you kidding me? It was an honour to be invited.

To see that couple get together and celebrate the union, I wouldn’t have missed that for the world. They had planned so well for the occasion as well. They planned almost everything … except for the wine. I have no idea how it happened, perhaps it was typical of Uncle Bart and his crew to be overly indulgent, but I heard about them running low and the party had just got started.

They didn’t want to make a fuss of it, but word got round to one or two people and this woman had a son who she instructed should be obeyed in anything he said. That guy must have been important, then. I didn’t see what happened next, but I did see one of the waiters bring a cup of something to the MC who was so startled that he had to say something to the groom.

When I tasted the new stuff they brought out, even I was astonished. This new wine was amazing. I had tasted some of the stuff through the evening, but my taste-buds were alert enough to detect something fresh, invigorating and with bite. Man alive that new wine was something else. I couldn’t tell you the last time I tasted something so good.

And talk about keeping the party going, not even Uncle Bart could get enough of the stuff and he wasn’t the only one. That took the festivities up another notch and I’m sure the newlyweds definitely enjoyed their night together afterwards.

It was an honour to be invited for the blessing of seeing the couple united in this way and especially to see the union commemorated in such an unforgettable fashion.

Seeing and tasting something like that?

I would not have missed that for the world.
