It’s the only way things will work out well.
I have a lot of time and admiration for those on the shop floor. For the front of house operators. For those who work to make their specific part of the puzzle work as it should. I salute them and acknowledge their efforts and their essential contributions. It is truly amazing to applaud their expertise in their effort birthed from hours of graft, setbacks and successes. They know what they’re doing better than most exactly because they’re doing it in the here and now. It’s not about how it was done yesterday and yesteryear, it’s about what’s going on in the present.
At the same time, I also marvel at those who take a few steps back and look at the bigger picture. How are all these functions actually doing to help bring about the desired outcomes? Are they flowing and interacting in a harmonious manner? Is there sufficient recognition as to what each does and the role they play in the bigger picture? Is their value truly appreciated? These types, the strategic folks, the ones who do not need an organisational chart to have a picture of whether the body is healthy in function or seriously debilitated in areas. They see it and see how they can bring it all together.
And fittingly to do that, they will need to submit themselves to those very people at the forefront of things. They will need to submit themselves to these people and then earnestly seek the ways to allow them to see what role they can play towards the harmony envisioned.
It’s the only way things will work out well.
