If you open box A you win the special star prize. If you open box B you get the booby prize.
Booby prize. Back in the day I took that phrase for what it meant – this is the worst ‘prize’ you could attain. You didn’t want the booby prize. It was so bad that you might as well not compete if you win that one.
So it was all about getting to open box A. You wanted to get that special star prize.
Can you imagine doing something in the hope of opening box A only to later to discover it’s actually prize B you’re opening?
What’s the reward we’re looking for in box A? Safety? Security? Personal wellbeing? Material prosperity? Global peace?
What if there was something of even greater value? What if there was a prize of inestimable worth that far exceeded all that? What if there was a prize worth pressing for that would change the way we lived forever for better? If you knew there was that kind of prize available – anything else in contrast wouldn’t appear to be as special at all.
It’s interesting then, that such a prize is available. It’s fascinating to realise that this prize is not just attainable but presented to us every day when we recognise who our source is and the purpose of life is to be known by Him and to ever grow in knowing Him.
There are still the two boxes on offer, but it depens on what you prize that will determine your prize …
