Pause for Praise: The Divine in the Disruption

They have a lot of questions about where He is in the midst of it all.

Is He rebuking or reassuring? Is He recentring our focus or is He highlighting our reluctance to truly recognise Him for who He is?

Although the questions rain in as to where He is in the disruption and what He’s doing in the disruption, what cannot be missed is that He’s there. He is there.

When we think about who is there – who He reveals Himself to be by His Word and His Spirit, that should be reason for pause and reason for praise.

Pause because in the disruption is the presence of One who is greater. Pause because the Creator of the universe is on the scene and is not overwhelmed by it. Pause because He chooses to be with you through it and He is awesome in nature and character.

Praise because there is no one who can compare to Him. Praise because He is who He is and there is no one greater. Praise because in His awesome being, He will come through for His own. Praise because He gives peace in the middle of the storm and removes distress from the disturbance. Praise even in the pain and confusion because it will not be the full stop in the story. The story He is writing, the story in which He will gain glory even in the darkest night as He speaks light into the situation.

That won’t stop the questions being asked. Feel free to ask them yourself. As you do so remember to pause for praise.
