The honesty is refreshing and the depth of despair is something people can relate with.
His life was threatened and afterall he had done, he felt it was all for nothing. He felt like he was a failure and that he wasn’t that much better than all those that came before him that likewise had failed miserably.
He wanted to quit and said as much.
At that time he went so sleep only to be stirred from his slumbers. Someone had sorted out something for him to eat and drink. He could take that in and then afterwards he could go on a journey. Go on a journey to have a talk about it. Have a talk about his woes. Have a talk about his troubles.
After he had taken the meal in though, he fell asleep. Only to get stirred for another meal that would help him to be ready for the journey to talk things over.
As it transpired the journey was worthwhile as was the talk, because it’s good to know when you’re feeling low that you can have a talk with God about your problems and He can set you right.
