‘On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” ‘ Mark 4:35
Hindsight really is a wonderful thing.
One of the things about hindsight, though, is seeing where the clues where there to ensure we didn’t have to go through with that degree of anxiety and panic. We don’t have to, because there was a word from the Lord that we’re going to the other side. If the Master says we’re crossing over to the other side, that should be a good indication that if we left together, we’re going to reach the other side together.
If we’re setting out on a mission that God has called us on, we can trust God who has called us. If we’re navigating out lives by the instructions of God, we can trust God who has set those instructions. We can trust Him because of His outstanding track record of faithfulness.
There was no guarantee that the journey to the other side would be smooth. There was no promise that the journey would be without incident or discomfort. There was a word that said that we’re going across. That’s enough of a word to trust on the journey.
That’s something we can have an insight to learn from now and not have to wait for hindsight.
