I would not make it where I am on my own.
There are a few who have been with me on the journey, like my brother and sister who have witnessed a lot of what’s happened.
I am particularly grateful for my wife, Authrine.
Stevie Wonder wrote a song that became a big hit back in the 1980’s (way back in the old century) called I Just Called To Say I Love You. The sentiment of the song simply suggests that there’s no specific occasion required – like a holiday or whatever – to just be able to call up the cherished person to express love for them.
There is no significant occasion to mark this day. To all intents and purposes, it’s just another day. This is a day, however, that I reflect on the love the Father has given me to be called His son and the amazing love he shares with me to be able to be the husband and good friend of Authrine Dryden. She is an amazing expression of God’s love for me.
I am alive and thriving today because God knew I could never make it on my own. And among the great siblings and good friends, God marked Authrine out to be my helpmate. My beloved one who is right there beside me and has been for a long time.
Thank God for Authrine Dryden. I love you. And I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
