We didn’t go away for long. We were back within a week.
Yet when we got back, it felt like we had been out of the loop for ages. I personally appreciated coming across the new friends we made when we were away. It is good to visit new places and connect and appreciate new things. Yet there were those people. Those saints. Those brothers and sisters in Christ back home.
There’s this couple we pray with on occasion. Over a brief period of time we grew to be really connected with them. A connection we know was made by the love of God. So just spending that week away felt like it had been a long time. A long time and a sense of longing to connect with them again.
Similar sentimes could be shared about others. That’s a good thing. It reflects the fact that connections have been made and it’s not a matter of routine and surface relationships. It’s about shared lives and an acknowledged depth of affection because of the love of Christ.
That kind of relationship is what we celebrate and look forward to cultivating further and deeper as we walk with the Lord.
