Infrastructure Matters

The human body is so fascinating.

I applaud those who have made it their passion in life to discover all the intricacies about how the body operates. How different parts are connected and the role of the brain in everything is something that comes across as so complex. Yet it’s something that I function in every day without consciously knowing until something goes wrong or is challenged.

When things go wrong – from a paper cut, to a strain of the knee, to breathing difficulties, to headaches – it raises questions of how does it work and what stops it from working properly and what can be done to fix it or deal with it if it cannot be fixed.

The human body is the first place where we can recognise infrastructure matters.

Wouldn’t be great to know that we can have the same approach in considering the Body of Christ? Wouldn’t be great to see the life of Christ, get an idea of how His Body should now operate and then see if that’s how the Body is functioning? Wouldn’t it be brilliant to get an idea of different parts of the Body and see how its working and consider if as a whole there are things preventing the Body from being as it should and being able to address it?

I think it would be great and thankfully that’s not a pipe-dream or wishful thinking. After all, this isn’t my body we’re talking about. This is the Body of Christ – it’s His Body. He’s so concerned about it that He is doing the work to ensure that it’s in good shape.

He’s doing His part in getting us to operate together as He ha always designed. Getting us to operate in the systems and methods He has arranged.

He does this because infrastructure matters.
