Wisdom Says Learn From The Best

Sergio Aguerro is arguably the best goalscoring striker in the English Premier League.

Not only is he a prolific striker, he also scores goals for the most successful team at present in the English game.

It makes sense, then, that if you wanted to learn how to be a striker, it would at least help to see how he plays from time to time. If the chance presented itself to see him play live, then you’d want to snap that up. If there was even a chance to see how he lived, trained and generally prepared himself for the games throughout a season, that would be something you would want to do with great eagerness.

Why? Because this guy is the best at what he does and to aspire to be anywhere near as good, it helps to learn from the best. Not just learn in an academic sense, but learn as intently and intimately as possible to gain as much as you can.

When it comes to the best at living as a whole, who would you recommend? A parent? Your spouse? Who? How would you link up with them to learn as much from them as possible? What if you’re the best person for someone to learn from? Are you ready to open your life to that degree of scrutiny and be a source of blessing for someone else to learn a little more on how to live?

Discipleship is brilliant because it does not place the most pressure on the individual who is helping you. The pressure is always on Jesus Christ. We look to others as they help us look to Jesus Christ. He can handle it as well because He really is the best at living. His life remains the model to consider for us all. He invites us to look to Him to learn what life is and trust Him to help us to live it. Some of us have learnt from Him really well, so we can look to them to help us look to Him.

In many aspects of life it’s good to have the best to help us in the journey of life.
