When I feel small and insignificant. When I think I cannot make it. When I think the odds against me are too great. When I think I’m too weak to make it. I thank you for your word that reminds me that it has absolutely nothing to do with me other than my capacity to yield to the reality that greater are you that lives in me than the obstacles, obstructions, hostility, opposition and enemies that are in the world.
You are greater. You are stronger. You are wiser. There is no one greater than you and when I yield to that truth and completely submit myself to you that is when I’ll experience the greatest victory. The actual conquering and overcoming is never as great as the initial allowing of God to be great in me, through me and beyond me.
Is there anything too hard for you, Lord? Is there a mountain too great for you to shift? Is there a force of spiritual beings or earthly hordes that can have a hope of overwhelming the Lord of hosts?? Is there???
Was the serpent able to defeat you? Was Pharaoh and his army able to defeat you? Were the surrounding peoples able to defeat you? Was Baal able to defeat you? Was Dagon able to defeat you? Was Herod able to defeat you? Was Babylon able to defeat you? Was Nebuchadnezzar able to defeat you?
Were the storms able to defeat you? Was leprosy able to defeat you? Was blindness able to defeat you? Were the doubters able to defeat you? Was the rejection of your followers able to defeat you? Was various diseases and ailments able to defeat you? Was lack of apparent food able to defeat you? Was a tax summons able to defeat you? Was a shortage of wine able to defeat you? Was the doubt of your mother and brothers able to defeat you? Was the denial and betrayal from your own disciples able to defeat you? Was Pontius Pilate and Herod able to defeat you?
Was the cross able to defeat you? Was the grave able to defeat you?
Are atheists able to defeat you? Are secularists able to defeat you? Is debt able to defeat you? Are demons able to defeat you? Is cancer, aids and diabetes able tp defeat you? Are the powers of this world able to defeat you? Is the devil able to defeat you? Is a lukewarm church able to defeat you? Are the rebellious lot of the earth able to defeat you??
Come on, Jesus! You can never be defeated. Never.
Whatever setback comes my way, Oh God. Whatever situation that sees me entombed for a few days. Whatever keeps me in a whale for a while. Whatever sees me besieged for a season. Whatever sees me wandering in the wilderness. Whatever whatever whatever whatever – you are greater. Blessed be your wonderful name.
No one is greater. You can bring me through. You have already brought me through so much . You have already delivered me from so much. That which I read in your word is no fairy tale because I know you to have done amazing and mighty things in my time.
So when I cry out to you to help me, to help my wife, to help my children, to help your people to see you do the amazing and for us to be overcomers more than conquerors, when I ask for that it is not a pathetic and hopeless request. It is not wishful thinking on my part. It is a cry to the God that delivers, that conquers, that defeats, that overwhelms, that dominates, that is victorious in every situation – the God who wins.
That’s not about being able to see things my way amd expecting the win by my standards, that’s about lifting my eyes to you for your ways are definitely not my ways, ahhhhhhhhh but glory to your name, your ways still see you rule over all. Thank you God. Glory to your name.
The way we overcome is just to rest on the promise and the truth that greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. The Spirit of God, the Spirit of Counsel, the Spirit of Wisdom, the Spirit of understanding the Spirit of Power, the Spirit of Knowledge and the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. The Spirit that purifies and cleanses me to have clean hands, a pure heart and a sound mind.
Praises belongs to you Almighty God because you are never defeated. And when I submit to you and place my trust wholeheartedly in you no prison, no cave, no siege, no blockage, no dominion, no authority can ever defeat the reality of your overcoming power.
