Marked Out To Fit In

Perhaps you have received some communication that marks you out.

Joe was the spoilt one.

Spoilt because he was from Daddy’s favourite. Daddy had a few mothers you see, but there was the first love, the one he had worked for a long time to gain his hand. Though the other mothers had given him children, it took his first love so long to produce one of her own – then came Joe and a bit later on his little brother Benji.

Dave was the runt of the pack.

He really was the last of the lot from his Dad. He had seven brothers ahead of him and they were all the more likely to succeed. All he was set to likely to succeed in was looking after his Dad’s sheep. Although it wasn’t the glamorous job and it certainly wasn’t working for the King in his army, Dave took the responsibilities seriously.

Joe the spoilt and Dave the runt.

Both of them faced some brothers who were not that impressed with them. Both of them not the first in line to get the most prestigious job in the land. Yet both of them received communication that marked them out.

Sometimes the communication that marks you out makes you a misfit to some. Yet there is often something far greater set out for you to fit in. And often to fit there, will require you to no longer fit in where you belong.

This was the case when the spoilt son who becomes the wise President of the most powerful nation of the earth. To get there communication had to be received to mark Joseph out so that he could fit in with a bigger plan.

This was the case when the runt of the pack turned into the standard for godly monarchy in a nation that had craved a great leader ever since it asked for one. To reach that position communication had to be received to mark David out so that he could fit in with a bigger plan.

It does not have to be about aspiring and attaining great positions of influence and authority. It can be as simple as just realising that where you are in life is not where you are scheduled to be, even if that upsets those around you that prefer you to stay in your place as the runt or want to get rid of you because you’re the spoilt one.

Perhaps you’ve received some communication that marks you out.
