Jesus, My Friend: A Prayerful Reflection

Dear Jesus, I love you.

You are my friend and it is my honour to be known as a friend of yours. It is an honour to also see what you do for your friends. How you lay your life down for your friends, how you pick up your life for your friends so that in you, your friends will never die but live by the resurrection power that rose you from the grave.

Thank you for that kind of love that marks you out above all friends it’s possible to have. You are a great friend. Help me to be as good a friend to those who you have put in my sphere of influence. The best relationships are built on that sense of kinship that is apparent through friends. Different parents and different cultures, but an affection brings an attraction and the attraction nourishes the affection and a friendship is formed and developed.
Help us to be influences of the righteousness, faithfulness, goodness and kindness that should be the framework within which friendship can flourish. Help us as we seek to help others witness your prayer about unity and about a love that declares to the world that you are real and the Father sent you will be clearly in operation. Our desire, as yours, is for others to be a part of this relationship.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
