Marriage – The Storm and The Peace: A Prayerful Reflection

There is no failure in you.

That does not mean there is no failure. That does not mean there is no disappointment. That does not mean there are no tears. Those are going to happen. You don’t stop us from experiencing those and you remain right there with us as we do so.

Adverse circumstances may surround us, but the understanding is that we will remain ever protected in you. That we will resist the devil and he will flee from us because we trust in you and our trust is you.

For marriages going through the storm, help them heavenly father to hold onto your promises. Help them to hold onto you in those adverse circumstances that inevitably will come their way. Help them to hold onto you in those times and to see the worth in keeping faith in you despite all the storms.

I pray for the perfect peace that comes from you. Perfect peace because their minds are stayed on you. Perfect peace because their trust is in you. Perfect peace because their trust is you. Help them work through their tensions, Lord.

Don’t let them get distracted – keep their focus on you. You are the source of their strength. You are the strength of their lives. They live and have their being because of you. Let that reality become so evident in them that their joy will be complete today in the acknowledging that reality.

Thank you that you love them and have saved them and brought them together to glorify your name. Give them that view of your goodness in their lives so that they can face any opposition in full reassurance that they are in your plans and in your hands.

It is easy to get derailed by anxieties and issues, but I have every confidence in you that with your wisdom and guidance they can negotiate everything and emerge triumphant as man and wife together in holy unity, giving you thanks for all things. Bless your name forever for your righteousness and goodness, Lord. Be glorified.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
