You Are With Us: A Prayerful Reflection

You have not left us.

You have not abandoned us. We are not neglected. You care and you continue to care every step of the way.

Times change, seasons come and go. There are highs and lows, set-backs and successes. In it and through it all you remain faithful. We would not have reached this far in the journey without you. The story we tell as we look back on the trail is the story of your goodness and kindness.

We stumbled and fell, you picked us up. We got distracted and diverted, you corrected us and restored us to the right path. We were discouraged and you gave us reason to endure. We were anxious and your peace and provision banished all worries. We faced seemingly overwhelming situations and yet you gave us the victory time and again in such a way that only you could ever claim the credit, the glory could only ever go to you.

You were there when the tears of grief, bitter frustration and loss streamed down our cheeks. You were there when the anger built to such a degree that we were likely to not just blow a fuse but also cause considerable and regrettable damage. You were there when the confusion written across our face was close to us giving up the journey and preferring something else instead. You were there when we doubted. You were there when we quibbled. You were there when we complained.Yet your love remained steadfast. Your commitment never wavered.

Your voice still spoke, your word remained and your promises true before were true in the present. From the pain of defeat and in the middle of the crisis you helped us go through and find our sufficiency in you. We learn to never take you for granted. We learn to take you at your word.

This is why we want all who come behind us to find us faithful so that they can see in you the faithful one worth following.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
