Father, what is a lovely day to you?
I was wondering, as I walked into work one morning, that seeing the sunrise and then getting to see the sunset must be your way of inspiring us men to score amazing free kicks from the edge of the area that manage to rise and set so beautifully before nestling in the net of the opposition to spark scenes of joy and delight at another goal scored. It rises so beautifully and sets so magnificently at the completion of what must be for you a lovely day.
But what makes a lovely day for you? In the same manner as that free kick evidently the sun has been sent on a mission across our day skyline to illuminate the way for others to see light on their situation and allow them to work while it is day before the night comes where no one can work. That work for us is similar to the mission of the sun. We rise to the occasion and set having completed it thanks to your help and the presence of your Spirit in our lives.
We rise to the occasion and set having completed it thanks to your help and the presence of your Spirit in our lives.
You have given us everything we need today to live a godly life. We don’t have to worry about that. You’ve set us up. We’re ready to be sent into the workplace today. We’re ready to be sent into the school today. We’re ready to be sent into the lives of those you have strategically placed us to influence. We have been thoroughly equipped by your Spirit to be faithful to your call. Although often we won’t realise the resource until we’re on the field, it does not detract from the reality of being equipped.
Thank you that some of us celebrate that beauty of a free kick, even more so will we celebrate your inevitable victory over all things as the Son will rise again to settle all things. In the meantime help us to discover more about what a lovely day is to you.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
