Spreading the Praise: A Prayerful Reflection

Oh that men would praise your name and praise your name to the end of the earth.

What a glorious thought, what a glorious desire. How glorious a thought is that. All over the world men and women praising your name and glorifying you.

You are worthy oh Lord to receive glory and honour, majesty and power, wisdom and praise. You alone are worthy, heavenly Father. You alone are worthy, Jesus our Redeemer. You alone are worthy.

For you have created, all things created, you have created all things and for your pleasure we are created, you are worthy oh Lord.

Holy Spirit of the Living God cause my heart to rise in honour of your glorious name, cause my mouth to speak of your praise forever. Lift my being to glorify your name in all the earth. That is the only way to live. The only way that life makes sense.

When I consider you from eternity past to eternity to come my entire being is swept up in praise and adoration. I am truly overwhelmed and amazed by you. Glorious in holiness, majestic in power. From ages past to ages to come none can compare with you.

This is why you’re keen for me to be about the business of spreading the good news of your Kingdom. Something so wondrous and captivating, something so liberating and transforming, something so truly splendid and magnificent is something far too massive to keep within, it’s something to be shared with others.

Something that others should at least be invited to experience for themselves. Something that others should get a taste of. Once that is done, then it is up to others how they respond to the good news. It is their responsibility.

Until then it is our responsibility to give them that insight. It is our responsibility, it is our privilege, it is our honour, it is our pleasure, it is our chance to join with you to see the praise of your name extended to the ends of the earth.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
