We are tired of the foolishness leaving us in a fool’s mess.
Too long decisions have been made for self other than the need of others. Too long the allure of money have tugged at the decision-makers. Too long self-gratification has overcome what is right for what feel good for right now. Too long.
It is not as though we are ignorant of what the answer is. It is not as though we don’t know what change we need.
The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:17-18)
We need the change from the wisdom of the world to the wisdom from above. We need the change to a wisdom that is pure and loves what makes for peace. We need a change so that decisions are based on what will bring about what’s right. What’s right across the board not just for closed interest groups.
We need the change at every level. Not just in terms of national and local government. We need the change in the workplaces and in the homes. We need the change in everyday relationships. We need the change in the decisions we make at the individual level every moment of our lives.
To see the harvest of righteousness, to observe the peace that results and engage in the joy that flows from this reality – please give us the wisdom.
Father you have urged us all the time to value your wisdom. Let us embrace now more than ever to see the change. And let that start with me.
