On The Path

People love the thought of heaven. The concept of the state of paradise is alluring.

The reality that any such states are not automatic and will not be given on a balance of good things versus bad things can make it a bit challenging. The path to be on to reach the destination is not a smooth one or an easy one. It’s not one for the faint of heart or for the ones looking for instant glory or immediate gratification.

It’s still better to be on the path than to be off it. Wandering away from the path to look after your own issues in your own way does not lead to any lasting satisfaction. Veering off the path to pursue other glittering baubles proves to be all too much of a n illusion. Quitting the path because it’s too tough does not result in getting things any easier.

Staying on the path is not down to your intellect or your hunger, it’s not down to your determination or your desperation. Staying on the path is down to the connection you have with the one you follow. That connection makes all the difference. That ongoing communication of knowing Him and following His lead is what keeps you going on the path.
