With Some Assistance

Funny isn’t it.

They need help for the first part. Then you’re getting them to do things on their own and as soon as they are well into doing things on their own, in the last part, they need help to get things done.

It’s tough really, because although there’s plenty to be said for personal responsibility and you will be held to account for the decisions you make for yourself, it is not to suggest that life is about doing it on your own.

It’s fascinating, though, the system at times is set up for personal success alone. Individual awards, solo commendations and although talk is made about others, a lot is based on what the person does for themselves. That’s sad, but probably inevitable if the idea is to be the god of your own world.

Reality gets in the way often that any success worth celebrating is done with some assistance. When it’s broken down and seen in detail there is wisdom in the lyric that you get by with a little help from your friends. Perhaps if there were systems in place and available that highlighted that a lot more and reflected the beauty of the interdependent rather than the independent things would be better. Perhaps.

Isn’t there a system of operations that is based on that? A system of life’s operations that views a collaboration of people like they’re a body completely dependent on each other to function to its best? Isn’t there such a system that celebrates the uniqueness of the individual only to be appreciated in the light of the whole?

Isn’t there?

Maybe I’ll come across it and enjoy it. Maybe. I’ll need some assistance where that’s concerned, though.
