A Simple Choice

You over-think things.

It’s one thing to take into account the various factors and make a considered decision – but you over-think things. It’s like you keep second-guessing yourself even after you’ve reached what should be the conclusion. What is it? Fear? Anxiety? A desire to control all the factors and make sure your way is the outcome? Whatever it is, it’s inhibiting you. It is making you reach a decision to be decisively indecisive. Procrastination is your dearest friend.

It does not have to be that way.

It comes back to the simple decision you made so long ago. A simple decision that you realise you take every day. A decision to trust Him. You will not trust yourself and you won’t invest that trust in something or someone other than Him. You will trust Him and believe that He is good and will lead you to the good.

That is a simple choice you make every day. Sometimes you don’t follow through on that choice. Sometimes you mess it up.

What helps you is the grace to know it is not your brilliance, good intentions or resolve that makes the difference. It’s all down to His grace. A grace that pick s you up when you fall. A grace that corrects when you stray. A grace that restores when you foul up. A grace that refreshes when you tire. a grace that points out the hope ahead and motivates for one more day.

That grace helps – just for today.

It helps with that simple choice you make.

Perhaps with that simple choice to trust – you can finally stop with the over-thinking. Stop with the prevaricating.

Make that simple choice again – and enjoy your life.
