For The Journey – Focus On The Light

When they were leaving they could have taken a particular route to get to their destination. In fact it would have been quicker to take that route. Yet there was a better route to take that would prevent them from returning to where they were leaving.

To get the route and keep on moving there was light to show them the way.

In the opinion of some, there was a more straightforward way that my life should have been mapped out. There were certain steps that I should have taken that would have lead to certain outcomes that would have been suitable for a pleasant outcome for my life. Those steps refer to jobs I should have had, courses I should have taken, positions I should have pursued and as a result significant income and influence that should have been mine.

Indeed, on the odd occasion, I often query what would have happened if I had followed those paths. When I do query that, however, there is a voice that says, “I would not be there to show you the way.”

That is not to suggest at all that every decision I have made and every step I have taken has been the right one. It is not to say every job I’ve had was the one I should have taken. It is to say that evidently there is a route to get to the destination that was far better for me to take than one that others suggested. It is to state clearly that sometimes when even my own inclinations preferred other paths, there was a guide leading me on a different one. Different and necessary to ensure that I would stick to the journey and not return where to what I had left.

I don’t always know where I’m going. I don’t always know what I’m doing. I don’t understand often why I am where I am and sometimes I wrestle with the route and the placement. At those times, though, I am always encouraged to what the focus of my entire life should be about.

Focus on the light.
