Take A Breath And Hear This

Breathing and hearing.

There is a narrative outlining the beginning of humanity. That narrative starts with man being formed from the dust of the earth. Indeed it really is dust to dust when you see how the human form decomposes. What made man a living being was the capacity given to breath by a breath.

Once the creature was animated, the narrative outlined how he was then marked for the purpose of his existence by hearing instruction. Everything was provided for him – the environment, the resources – everything was needed for him to fulfil that instruction.

As he breathed in so he heard, as he breathed out so he responded. As he did so, the garden was cultivated. As that happened, so the shalom was maintained.

He breathed, he listened, he responded, he cultivated.

It’s a good start in thinking about direction.
