“I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.” (Luke 21:3-4)
It doesn’t take much to realise what Jesus wants from those that follow Him.
People are drawn to numbers. If you read that an individual had poured hundreds or thousands or millions into something, it would attract the attention. Jesus is drawn however to matters of the heart, rather than matters of quantity.
How would our church culture be if we celebrated that? What if there was something about recognising people not for the quantity of what they offer, but for how they give all they have for the sake of the Kingdom?
How can that be modelled on an individual and communal level?
