This man came and talked about a place.
He was in a place, but talking about a different place. Yet this different place would actually impact the place they were in. Yet even though this different place would impact the current place, it would also be a place in and of itself.
It is a fascinating place.
It is such a fascinating place, that the man who came and talked about the place would give people a taste of it. A woman kept in the captivity of a crippling physical condition was released on a Sabbath. That was a taste of the place.
This man was eager to give people more of a taste of the place.
“What else is the Kingdom of God like? It is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.” (Luke 13:20-21)
It was one thing for the people hearing these to see the glimpses of the Kingdom in changed lives. Getting insight into the nature of the place with these words would get the minds racing to what this kind of place would be like.
Its level of influence, its reach, its impact conveyed in a way so simple and yet has such exciting connotations. Exciting for those who are eager to get a taste of this place.
