Grace & Hope: The End of the Episode is not the Last in the Series

The story goes on.

The story of your life that is.

It is not always good news if you’re going through a season of intense suffering. When you wake up and the pain you felt yesterday is even worse today, it does not sound like good news. When the space that was filled by a loved one is now vacant, it does not sound like good news. When your bank balance that was depleted before, gets even more depleted but you don’t have a job to replenish the resources, it does not sound like good news.

When that episode of your life was going so well and this incident hits it can feel dreadful. Being told that the story goes on might actually sound terrifying.

Yet

There is grace to make it through. There is grace to see the end of the episode as not the end of the series. There is grace to grieve and see purpose in persisting in the land of the living. There is grace to be thankful for whatever you get when you don’t get a lot. There is grace to even look at the situation of the present and hold out hope that if the series continues, there might be a brighter episode coming up.

There is grace.

Thank God for the grace.
