Psalm 64 – Way Back Then And Right Now

Sometimes I read these Psalms and imagine modern scenarios of these ancient songs.

For example with this one, I was thinking about a saint working in an office where their colleagues are constantly gossiping against this saint.

You know how it is. Because our saint is happily minding her business and being of use in the workplace but not taking part in the office gossip, this saint is targeted for backbiting. So whenever promotion is spoken about, she’s not considered because her colleagues look to poison the minds of the decision makers.

Then our saint utters this Psalm as a prayer … Before long, new management takes over and recognises the due diligence and prosperity of the saint and without a second thought they promote her whilst dismissing the key gossip mongers for their insubordination and laziness.

For His Name’s Sake

Shalom
