I came across this picture from Steve Green’s Facebook page and it struck a profound chord in me.
The eternal purposes of God are not spoken about often enough. Seeing salvation as the end goal misses the point of the purpose for which we were created in the first place. We get to work out those purposes here and now through our relationships with each other in the church and in our families and with the wider world. What we work out here on earth displays to heavenly spiritual forces that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, God rules supreme and His glory is seen in the church.
This is such a pivotal statement placed in the context of revealing mysteries that people of old had longed to know. It’s why that part of Paul’s letter is so important for all those who are following Jesus. It’s an epic statement if we but take the time to appreciate it.
For His Name’s Sake
