Sam’s 2nd Epic 09 – Jonathan Remembered

The love David had for Jonathan was deep and profound. Here he is established in Jerusalem years after the death of his close friend who would have been King. Yet David has not forgotten the bond of covenant love that extends not just to his friend but those that followed.

Imagine being Mephibosheth, unable to walk and not expecting any better treatment having fallen from being part of royalty to part of the forgotten. Yet David, for the sake of his love, has not forgotten.

The act of kindness from David to Mephibosheth is awesome. It triggers the thought of what acts of kindness could we do to the relatives of dearly loved ones for the sake of the love we had for them?

For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
