My Christian upbringing exposed me to certain hymns, but as it was not an Anglican, Baptist or Methodist style of church and tended towards different songs. As a result there were some hymns that completely passed me by. This is one of those hymns.
I heard it for the first time recently at a very significant service for someone I hold in high regard. I enjoy from time to time not looking to sing the hymn, but be carried by it both in terms of the musical arrangements and lyrical content. This was one of those times.
Enjoy.
