Sense of Satisfaction Before It Begins Again

I get a sense of great satisfaction when I finish reading through a book in the Bible.

It never fails to amaze mehow much more I get from reading through a book again. It’s humbling to never approach reading the book as though I know it and there’s nothing more to learn.

Reading through the book of Exodus has been very challenging for me. It’s challenging because I see a lot of myself in the stiff-necked tendency of the children of Israel. I see a lot of the same need to be rescued from the slavery to sin mentality. I see the need to be lead by God based on the presence of God to follow the instructions of God that reflects the freedom with which He has made me free.

There’s a great deal of satisfaction, then, in completing the reading of the book, but I am only too aware that just because I’ve finished reading it, that does not mean it has finished reading me.

For his Name’s Sake

Shalom
