Exodus Extracts 37 – He Made It

Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half was its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. (Exodus 37:1 ESV)

One of my favourite TV programmes in my childhood days was The A-Team. The part of the programme that I enjoyed considerably was when the four heroes were placed in a confined space with seemingly little to help them as they faced an approaching enemy. Then like the resourceful military men they were, they would turn the limited resources around them into a multi-weapon tank that would eliminate the enemy, though noticeably without actually killing anyone as it was a show for children as well.

Exodus chapter 37 is like the scene where the A-Team put together the tank. It’s one thing having received the instructions, the blueprint, the outline and the call, it’s another thing to crack on with actually using the resources to make words reality.

This chapter and the next could be classed as the Bezalel chapter such are the references to him at the start and then throughout completing the doing work. Be in no doubt that this was not a one-man show. There were many who had it in their hearts so they would have contributed too.

The dedication and diligence to the task at hand, would make Hannibal proud as like God, he loves it when a plan comes together.
