Exodus Extracts 02 – Moses The Misfit

The alien in Egyptian royalty. The rejected among his own. The fugitive in a strange land.

It’s fascinating reading of the birth and early years of Moses. From his birth to his upbringing, to his vigilante equaliser efforts, to helping out the women in Midian. There is so much to consider in these early journeys.

It is clear, though, that his status as a misfit – not accepted by his own or by his adopted, but finally welcomed by a group of strangers, gives hope for people who never feel they quite fit in. The desire for what’s right and fair can burn brighter in the light of such injustice, but in it and through it all, just as God remembered His people, so God hears and will respond to those rejected unjustly by society.
