Grace and Holiness

It’s a challenge to say that there are certain things that are right or wrong absolutely.

It takes one person to differ and with enough intellect, passion and intensity for any statement to be considered as strong but not applicable to all. It happens in all spheres of life including church.

In it all is the sad way terms like ‘holiness’ and ‘grace’ are used and abused. Holiness is either unattainable beyond our senses or it’s rigid and stuck up in a rules oriented mind-set. Grace is viewed as a relaxed, easy to let go and anything goes mentality.

It’s sad because they complimentary terms, not at odds with each other. Our holy God is full of grace and His abundant grace reflects His holy character. So to be gracious  is based on the Holy character of God. The two are interlocked as they are intrinsic in the way God reveals Himself.

Oh to be like Him in all life. Full of grace and truth.

For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
