Work, job, career, occupation, something to do.
This weekend I was reminded that to be able to work is not a curse, it’s a blessing. We were created to purposefully occupy our time with effort and labour. It’s a beautiful thing.
It’s even more beautiful when we approach the purposeful use of time in response to what God has called us to do. I love the concept of vocation literally being about a call. The call demands a response. The call to be diligent in our efforts. The call to maximise our gifts, talents, skills and qualities in line with the driving passion for contributing to a prosperous and fair society.
It is reassuring to know that my life won’t be judged based on the wages I earn or the lofty position I might achieve. I am glad that it will be about how I responded to the call.
For that I am grateful.
For His Name’s Sake
Shalom
